The contribution of volunteers in our voluntary sector can often go unacknowledged. Volunteers make significant contributions to our society. I can not fully articulate how appreciative Islamic Relief and especially the team here in Scotland are for our volunteer’s inspiring generosity in volunteering for various campaigns and projects. Neither can I articulate how indebted I am to each of our team member personally; our volunteers are the real champions of Islamic Relief, the un-credited facilitators. The contribution of volunteers in all sectors and to all aspects of life needs to be measured, recognised and celebrated. Islamic Relief Scotland’s Volunteers’ Week is an annual event which celebrates the fantastic contribution that many of our volunteers make across Scotland. To highlight this contribution, we have organised a volunteer’s dinner on 10th June here in Glasgow to thank our volunteers and highlight their contribution during the past 12 months to local, national and International community.
